DETECTIVES have arrested a suspect for the fatal stabbing of a migrant worker.
The 34-year-old was arrested on suspicion of carrying out the stabbing.
A murder probe has now been launched following the attack at Woodvale Park in the town in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The victim, who is originally from East Timor, both lived and worked in the Dungannon area.
The suspect is currently in custody being questioned by detectives from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team.
A police spokesman said: “A special incident room has been established at Dungannon Police Station.
“Anyone who can assist with any information about this incident is asked to contact the Incident Room on 028 8775 0559.”
Crime scene investigators are at the scene assisting in a forensic examination the scene for clues to the killer and the weapon.
Dungannon has a large population of migrants who work in factories and also on farms in the county.
Last week, a migrant worker was murdered in a Dublin suburb following an all night party.
