Stena Line Belfast Giants beat Hull Stingrays on Saturday

THE Stena Line Belfast Giants held on for a 5-4 victory at the Odyssey Arena on Saturday night.

It sees the Giants collect 2 league points and progress to the semi final of the 2012-13 Elite League Challenge Cup with an 8-5 aggregate score.

Giants scored four times in the opening period in front of a good crow of faithful fans packed into the Odysseey Arena.

Goals came from Greg Stewart, Noah Clarke and two from Kevin Saurette.

But it took a late winner from Craig Peacock to seal victory over the Hull Stingrays.

The game also gave the Belfast side two Elite League points.

They are now four points behind leaders Nottingham Panthers, who returned to winning ways on Saturday with an 8-1 demolition of Dundee.
