Police release man over Newtownabbey stabbing

A 29-year-old man has been stabbed in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment following the assault in the Abbeyville Park area on Thursday evening.

Police said that his his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

During follow-up inquiries, police arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

He was later released on bail pending further enquiries.
