PUP rep Phil Hamilton delivers warm food and hot drinks to a Rathcoole pensioner on Thursday

PARTY activists from the Progressive Unionist Party (PUP) are out on Thursday afternoon visiting pensioners on the Rathcoole estate in Newtownabbey.

Local representative Phil Hamilton was leading the team of workers bringing warm food and hot drinks to the delighted pensioners on the estate.

Some of the worst affected snow areas have been in the Glengormley, Newtownabbey and Carnmoney areas since alst weekend.

Because of the conditions, some pensioners have been left stranded at home unable to get to the shops.
