Police at the scene of bomb alert in Ballymoney, Co Antrim

A NUMBER of homes have been evacuated over a bomb alert in Ballymoney.

The alert, at Dehra Gardens in the Garryduff Road area of the town, started after a suspicious object was found on Monday morning.

Army bomb disposal experts have been tasked to the scene.

The Garryduff Road is closed between Chestnut Grove and at the roundabout on the Ballymena Road.
