Police appeal for help in tracing a mugger ins south Belfast.

POLICE are hunting a suspect after a man was hit on the head with a bottle during a mugging in south Belfast.

The 24-year-old victim was walking on the Ormeau Road area close to the junction with Stranmillis embankment when he was approached by two men.

They demanded his mobile and, when he refused, hit the man on the head with a bottle that smashed.

The attackers ran off empty handed towards the Holylands.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to ring detectives on 0845 600 8000.
