RYDER CUP COUNTDOWN: ONE YEAR TO EUROPE TAKES ON USA IN SCOTLAND

TODAY marks exactly one year to go until the Ryder Cup 2014 tees off at the Gleneagles Resort in Perthshire, Scotland.

And to mark the occasion, one of Northern Ireland’s leading actors, James Nesbitt joined Ryder Cup captains Paul McGinley and Tom Watson this morning to board a specially commissioned steam train to mark a Year to Go until the start of The 2014 Ryder Cup.

The event is part of Homecoming Scotland’s 2014 celebrations and is expecting 250,000 visitors, many of whom are travelling from Northern Ireland.

The Year will celebrate the very best of Scottish food and drink, Scotland’s outstanding active and natural resources as well as creativity, culture and ancestral heritage.
