PSNI warn of a spate of attempted PPI frauds

THE police have warned the public to be vigilant over a spate of attempted frauds.

The PSNI in Ards say a number of people have received a telephone call informing them they are due for a PPI claim.

“The company request a deposit of £200-£300 for admin costs to be paid via u-Kash pay point,” say Ards PSNI.

“They then state that a named person will call around after with the cheque. If money is transferred they will call back and promise a larger claim if further money is transferred.

“Please be vigilant and let all your friends and family know of this scam.

“If you receive one of these calls contact your local police station on 0845 600 8000.”
