Off duty policeman helps nab a burglar in south Belfasgt

AN off-duty PSNI officer has been hailed after he helped police colleagues arrest a burglar in south Belfast.

The officer spotted a man running away following two broad daylight burglaries in Osborne Drive and Bawnmore Road.

“The off-duty officer gave chase on foot and rang 999,” say PSNI Balmoral.

“This allowed police to apprehend and arrest one male for burglary.

“Numerous stolen items were also recovered.”

A source said: “This just goes to prove that a policeman is never off duty.”
