DETECTIVES in Coleraine arrested a 40 year old male following a planned search under the Terrorism Act in the Bushmills area, yesterday Wednesday 19 March.

A number of items were seized and taken away for further examination.

He has subsequently been released pending a report to the PPS.

Chief Inspector Brenda Cairns, Area Commander for the area said “The priority of police in the Coleraine area is to keep the community safe and we will continue to use all means available to reduce and prevent criminality.

“Tackling criminality also requires the support of the public. We need information from communities.
