DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team have a charged a mother with murdering her infant child.
The 30-year-old woman is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Thursday afternoon.
The baby died in the Royal Victoria Hospital earlier this month on April 9
She had been found at a house in the Connsbrook Avenue area of east Belfast.
The incident was reported to police on 7 March.
The PSNI suspect the baby was smothered.
The woman was arrested in March and was detained under the Mental Health Act.
