SECURITY ALERT ON BELFAST-DUBLIN RAILWAY LINE ENDS

PSNIA SEARCH operation along the route of the Belfast to Dublin cross border railway line has now ended.

Police say “nothing untoward was found”.

Specialist PSNI teams had been carrying out searches at the railway line in Lurgan, Co Armagh between Lake Street and Kilwilkie Road.

It comes after police received intelligence reports of suspicious activity in the area.

The search meant that Translink had to put on a bus substitution service Lisburn and Portadown until further notice.

Normal train services are due to resume now the alert is over
