TEEN BOY ARRESTED AFTER GETAWAY ROBBERY CAR CRASHES IN WEST BELFAST

Police crime scene picDETECTIVES are quizzing a 16-year-old boy after a getaway car from a west Belfast robbery was involved in a collision with several other vehicles.

According to the PSNI, at  5.40 pm, police received a report that three males made off with a sum of money and cigarettes from a shop in the area.

It is believed that the three males made off in a stolen silver Ford Fiesta and headed in the direction of the Falls Road, where the car collided with several other vehicles.

The car was found on fire in the Ross Street area just after 5.55pm and the 16-year-old was arrested nearby.

He currently remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Kenneth Leckey appealed for information.

“I would ask anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact CID at Tennent Street Police Station on the non emergency number 101.
