Officers from the PSNI’s Reactive and Organised Crime Branch made the seizures during a planned search of a flat in the Cliftonville Road area of North Belfast yesterday, September 17.

Three men aged 43, 39 and 27 were arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A controlled drug and possessing a class A controlled drug with intent to supply.

They are to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today for a first remand hearing.

Detective Inspector Andy Dunlop said: “We will focus our resources on those who we believe are likely to cause the most harm within the community.

“Heroin can kill – that is a fact – and anyone who is suspected of involvement in the supply of this drug can expect to be arrested by police and presented before the courts.

“Those who deal in this kind of drug should be aware that upon conviction, the supply of any class A drug will attract a lengthy prison sentence,” he added.
