MAN BRUTALLY ATTACKED IN HOME WITH IRON BARS

Police scene armed copDETECTIVES are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary.

It happened at a residential premises in the Ballyvannon Road area of Glenavy in the early hours of Tuesday 6 October.

Police say that just after 4am, officers received a report that a man had been assaulted in his home by men with iron bars.

He has been taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

This investigation is currently being linked with the find of a burnt out car in the Lurgan Road area of Glenavy shortly after.

This car was a black Renault Clio which had earlier been stolen from a house in the Dunmurry area.

Detective Constable Maxwell said: “I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives in Lisburn Police Station on the non emergency number 101.
