DETECTIVES are investigating after a woman was targeted in a carjacking in west Belfast.

Police say she had parked her car in the Albert Street area on Sunday at around 5 pm when a number of male youths approached her.

They took her keys and drove off in her blue Ford Focus car.

The Focus car was recovered later that evening in the Fort Street area of West Belfast.

investigating officer Detective Constable Gary Crothers said: “I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 886 of 20/11/16.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
