CAR SEIZED AS MAN REMAINS CRITICALLY ILL AFTER HIT-AND-RUN INCIDENT

A MAN in his 20s is still fighting for his life in hospital after being struck by a car early yesterday morning.

It happened at Cardinal O’Fiaich Square in Crossmaglen, south Armagh. shortly before 6.20 am on Tuesday morning.

Police have said it was a hit and run incident and are appealing for witnesses.

A blue Volkswagen Passat, believed to have been involved, has since been recovered by police from the market area in the village.

Sinn Féin councillor Terry Hearty said he was “deeply shocked” at what had happened, and that anyone with information about the incident should contact police.
