HAMMER-WIELDING MASKED GANG SMASH WINDOWS IN EAST BELFAST HOME


A TERRIFIED mum and her young daughter have escaped injury after men armed with hammers smashed windows of a house in east Belfast.

Police say that incident was reported that around 8.30 pm on Monday, February 13, men forced their way into a house in Fashoda Street off the Beersbridge Road.

The men, armed with hammers, smashed windows, one in the kitchen and another at the front of the house.

The woman and her daughter were in the house at the time but were unhurt.

Investigating officers have appealed for information about the attack.

PSNI Detective Constable Blair said: “I would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1232 of 13/02/17.

“Alternatively, if you prefer to provide information without giving your details you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
