RACE HATE PROBE AFTER GRAFFITI DAUBED ON EAST BELFAST SHOP

POLICE are appealing for information following the report of criminal damage to commercial premises on the Beersbridge Road in east Belfast. 

Sometime between 12 midnight on Wednesday, 28 June and 7.30am this morning, Thursday, 29 June graffiti was spray painted on the shutters of the premises.

Police are treating this incident as a racially motivated hate crime.

Sergeant Jackson said: “I would appeal to anyone who has any information about this incident to contact Police at Strandtown on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 195 29/06/17.

“Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
