MAN ARRESTED IN WEST BELFAST AS COPS PROBE INLA ACTIVITY

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Reactive and Organised Branch investigating organised criminality associated to the INLA have arrested a man following searches in west Belfast. 

Detective Inspector Pete Mullan said: “One man, aged 38, was arrested in west Belfast this morning.

“He has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite in Musgrave Police Station for questioning.

“We are conducting searches at two addresses in the west Belfast area as part of the investigation.”

There have been a number of arrests by detectives investigating the activities of the INLA in west Belfast.

However, it is not know if this arrest is in connection with two masked INLA men firing shots over the coffin of Barry McMullan in west Belfast last Monday.
