TEENAGER CHARGED OVER ROBBERY BID ON NORTH BELFAST SHOP

A 19 year old man has been charged over botched robbery bid on a north Belfast shop on Friday night.

He has been accused of attempted robbery, criminal damage, and assault on police.

He is expected to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on 11 August.

As is usual procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

The charges relate to an attempt to rob a shop on Cliftonville Road, Belfast on Friday night, 14 July.

The suspect was detained by members of the public until the arrival of police.
