POLICE PROBE BURGLARY SPREE ON HOMES IN EAST BELFAST

DETECTIVES in Belfast are investigating reports of a number of burglaries in the east of the city which occurred on Wednesday, 2 August.

It is believed a house in the Ardmore Avenue area was entered sometime between 11am and 2:30pm and a sum of cash was taken.

Detective Sergeant Gardiner said: “On the same day police received a report of a burglary at a house in Cairnburn Gardens area.

“It is believed the house was entered sometime between 2:45 pm and 6 pm.

“A quantity of jewellery was taken.

“Police received a further report at approximately 6:30pm of a burglary at a property on Belmont Road, however, it was reported that nothing was taken.

“We are appealing for anyone who noticed suspicious activity, or who has any information about these burglaries should contact detectives at Musgrave Criminal Investigation Branch on 101 quoting reference numbers 828 of 2/8/17, 979 of 2/8/17 and 1027 of 2/8/17.

“Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
