DETECTIVES have charged a man with the murder of Colin Horner five months ago.
The 34-year-old man was arrested earlier this week during a planned operation.
Mr Horner was gunned down in the car park of Sainsbury’s food store on Sunday, May 28 in front of his son.
As well as being charged with murder the suspect has also been charged with possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.
He is expected to appear before Newtownards Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Friday 06 October for a first remand hearing.
Detectives believe Mr Horner was gunned down by associates of the south east Antrim UDA.
In March, the SEA UDA shot dead rival loyalist Geordie Gilmore from Carrick.
Both he and Mr Horner were friends.
