POLICE are advising motorists to avoid a part of west Belfast this evening.

A spokesman said: “The Upper Springfield Road in west Belfast has been closed in both directions due to police conducting a search in the area.

“The road remains closed at Hannahstown Hill and Monagh bypass.

“Diversions are in place and there are no further details at present.”
