A CO Antrim man has been remand in custody charged with the murder of Laurence Shaw earlier this month.
Mr Shaw, aged 56, was found in a house at Hillmount Gardens in Larne on October 8.
At Ballymena Magistrates’ Court this morning, Jackie McDowell (39) of Upper Waterloo Road in Larne appeared in the dock in a wheelchair.
The court heard he told police he accepted responsibility for Mr Shaw’s death and during police interview made full and frank admissions.
And the court was told that when the charge of murder was put to him by police, McDowell replied: “”I’m sorry for what I did.”
As his solicitor made no application for bail, McDowell was remanded in custody to Maghaberry prison.
