POLICE PROBE LAUNCHED AFTER SHOT FIRED AT WEST BELFAST HOME

DETECTIVES are appealing for information following an incident at a house in the St James’ Road area of Belfast last night, Sunday, October 29. 

At approximately 12 midnight the male resident of the property heard what he described as a ‘loud bang’.

On coming down the stairs shortly after 3.00am he discovered that the living room window had been broken.

There was also what appeared to be part of a spent cartridge.

Detective Constable Philip Cummings would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area to contact detectives at Criminal Investigation Division, Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 133 30/10/17.

Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.

For your guidance – Enquiries are ongoing to establish a possible motive for this shooting
