POLICE have arrested a 24 year old man on suspicion of a number of robbery offences.

It follows a proactive, planned search operation in the Carrickfergus area last night, Saturday 30 December.

The arrest is in connection with an armed robbery at a shop in Oakland Park in Carrick on 28 December, an armed robbery at a shop in Ballynure on 26 December and another at a shop in Glynn on Christmas Eve.

The man remains in custody at present.
