Man to appear at Lisburn Magistrates’ Court charged with attempted murder

DETECTIVES have charged a man to court over a weekend murder bid.

It follows an incident in the Brownstown Road area of Portadown in the early hours of Sunday,  September 9.

A PSNI spokesperson said that shortly before 3.45 am police received a report that a man had been assaulted after an incident.

The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries.

Three males, aged 27, 32 and 43 were arrested a short time later

Police say detectives in Lurgan have now charged a 32 year old man with attempted murder, assault and possessing an article with blade or point in a public place.

He is due to face Lisburn Magistrates’ Court this morning, Monday, September 10.

As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the PPS.

Two other men arrested in connection with this incident have been released unconditionally.
