DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Branch have charged a 33-year-old man with the UVF murder of father-of-two Ian Ogle in east Belfast.
Mr Ogle, 45, died after he was stabbed 11 times in the back and beaten in the street near his home at Cluan Place on Sunday, 27 January.
The man was arrested at Heathrow Airport in connection with Mr Ogle’s murder on Wednesday night.
The suspect had just arrived home from a holiday in Thailand when he was stoppedĀ by detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terror Command at the request of the PSNI in Belfast.
The 33-year-old will appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning, Friday, February 14, for a first remand hearing.
He was the fourteenth person arrested in relation to the killing.
Eleven men and two women quizzed by MIT detectives have all been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
