Man to face Belfast court over chemist shop robbery spree in east of city

DETECTIVES investigating a spate of armed robberies in east Belfast have charged a 27-year-old man with a number of offences.

They two counts of robbery and two counts of attempted robbery.

He’s also charged with three counts of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence, possession of a Class C controlled drug and possession of a Class C controlled drug with intent to supply.

He’s due to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday, April 29.

As is normal procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

The charges are in relation to incidents in the Albertbridge Road area on Friday 19 April, in the Orangefield Lane area on the evening of Tuesday 23 April; in the Beersbridge Road and Westminster Avenue North areas on Friday 26 April.
