MAN REPORTED TO PPS FOR WITHHOLDING INFORMATION OVER UVF MURDER OF IAN OGLE

Murder victim Ian Ogle beaten and stabbed to death in east Belfast in January this year

A 21-year-old man who was previously arrested in connection with the UVF murder of Ian Ogle in east Belfast has been reported to the Public Prosecution Service for withholding information.

The father-of-two was murdered by a group of east Belfast UVF men near his Cluan Place home in east Belfast on Sunday, January 27 this year.

Police said he was stabbed 11 times in the back and suffered a fractured skull during the brutal and horrific attack.

Two menĀ  – who fled to Thailand after the murder via Dublin airport but were arrested on their return to airports in England – have been charged with his murder.

A number of other people arrested over the savage killing have also been reported to the PPS for a range of offences.
