MARK SEWELL REMANDED IN CUSTODY OVER UVF MURDER OF IAN OGLE

Murder victim Ian Ogle beaten and stabbed to death in east Belfast in January this year

A 40-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Ian Ogle earlier this year.

Mark Sewell, from Aigburth Park, Belfast, is the third man to be charged with the murder

Following a brief hearing at Belfast Magistrates’ Court, Sewell was remanded in custody to Maghaberry prison.

Sewell is also to be reported to the PPS for attempted intimidation.

Mr Ogle was attacked by a UVF mob near his east Belfast home in Cluan Place on Sunday, January 27.

He was assaulted around the head and stabbed 11 times in the back.

In March, Glenn Rainey, 32, of McArthur Court, east Belfast was charged with murder.

Jonathan Brown, 33, of McArthur Court, has also appeared in court charged with murdering Mr Ogle.
