THREE ARRESTED OVER CAR THEFT IN SOUTH BELFAST

THREE men have been arrested following the report of a vehicle theft incident at Strandview Street in south Belfast on Monday 20th July.

It was reported that three males approached a man in the street, at around 8pm, as he stood beside his car.

One of the males then jumped into the driver’s seat and sped off stopping a short distance away to allow the other two males to get in.

A short time later, at around 8.20pm, the car was located on fire after it had crashed at Purdysburn Road in Newtownbreda.

A police patrol located and arrested three male suspects at the nearby Hydebank Playing Fields.

The men, aged 31, 32 and 33, were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including aggravated vehicle taking and robbery and all remain in custody at this time.
