A 30-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a mother-of-four in north Belfast last weekend.
Taylor McIlvenna – known as ‘Mac’- was charged with the murder of Caoimhe Morgan, as well as damaging windows and a car belonging to others.
The 30-year-old woman was found dead in her home in the Harcourt Drive area on Saturday.
Appearing before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning from the video link custody suite at nearby Musgrave PSNI station, McIlvenna, with an address at Greyabbey Road, Ballywalter, Co Down, replied ‘Yes’ when asked by the court clerkl if he understood the charges.
A detective sergeant from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team (MIT) said she believed she could connect the accused to the charges.
A defence solicitor made no application for bail.
McIlvenna was remanded in custody to Maghaberry prison where he will go into isolation for two weeks because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
He is due to appear via video link before the same court on Wednesday, January 19.
