DETECTIVES investigating a murder bid on Tuesday, February 8, have arrested a man following a search.
The 27 year old man was arrested in Newry city on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and remains in custody for questioning.
The arrest follows the shooting of a man at Newry’s Carbane Industrial Estate on Tuesday.
His attackers had waited for an hour before shooting the man in the legs and then fleeing in a car towards the border.
The PSNI say the investigation is ongoing and detectives continue to appeal to anyone with any information or dashcam footage in relation to the attack, to contact them at Ardmore Station on 101, quoting reference number 679 08/02/22.
