A 36-year-old man has been charged after police seized drugs with a street value of £1.8 million.
He has been charged with possession of Class A and Class B controlled drugs and possession with intent to supply.
He is to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court via videolink on Monday, February 14, for a first remand hearing.
As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
A 31-year-old woman has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
The charges follow an operation conducted by detectives from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Unit in the Belfast Harbour area on Saturday, February 12.
A lorry was stopped and searched and approximately £1.8 million worth of cocaine and cannabis was seized.
It comes a few days after the Organised Crime Unit seized £200,000 worth of cannabis from a lorry at Larne port in a joint operation with HM Revenue & Customs investigators.
