A 27 year old man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, aggravated burglary, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, Friday, June 3, for a first remand hearing.
As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges are in relation to a serious assault which occurred at the Moor Hill Road area of Newry on Wednesday, June 1.
