Detectives have charged a 26-year-old male following reports of attempted robberies in the Ormeau Park area of south Belfast on Monday, June 27.

He has been charged with four counts of attempted robbery, possession of a Class B controlled drug and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The male is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning, Wednesday, June 29, for a first remand hearing.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
