Major Investigation Team detectives have confirmed the human remains recovered from Cappagh reservoir on Wednesday, August 10, are those of Damien Heagney.

Specialist officers have now concluded their search of Cappagh reservoir.

Detectives are following a number of lines of enquiry and there are no further details at present.

The 47-year-old went missing in December last year in the Cookstown area but his disappearance was only reported last month.

One man has been arrested over the murder but was later released on bail pending further inquiries.
