Murder victim Mark Dorrian

Detectives from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team investigating the murder of 50-year-old Mark Dorrian have charged two people with murder.

A woman aged 33 and a man aged 36 have both been charged with murder.

They are expected to appear before Downpatrick Magistrates’ Court on Monday,  December 30 for a first remand hearing.

As is usual procedure, all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

A 58-year-old woman has been released unconditionally.

Mark Dorrian was found having sustained a number of injuries inside a flat in the West Street area of Newtownards, just before 1.50am on Thursday, 26th December.
